Fairy Cottage in Progress

Here is my latest project in progress. I was watching an episode of Carol Duvall (yes...I'm a big goober) and saw Lin Wellford on there painting these wonderful little cottages on rocks. My son and I immediately went out scouting for rocks in our rocky East TN countryside and found some big old jagged rocks from part of the old farm that is being dug up to form our subdivision (ugh.)
Because our rocks aren't pretty and smooth like Lin's, I took some of my beloved Apoxie-Sculpt and smoothed it out and carved a little thatch roof on it. I also took some wood filler and filled in some of the uneven spaces: NOTE: I am NOT fond of the wood filler!
In the picture above, you can see almost everything you need for this project.
1) Most Important: Widmer Bros. Hefeweizen Beer
2) Apoxie-Sculpt (take your jewelry off!)
3) A nice little rock
4) Wood filler (have I mentioned enough that I do NOT like it?)
5) Paint
6) A Knoxville Metro-Pulse to save your table from red clay mud!
7) Imagination (but not a huge one... even the one the size of my hubby's will do!)
Stay tuned! I haven't tried this before so it may be a DISASTER!
