Finished Christmas Elf Art Dolls

Yeah! I got up this morning with a fresh cup of coffee and finished all those little paint touch-ups (my LEAST favorite part of the process) and sealed the chosen areas of the sculpture. I love them! Actually, I'd like to steal The Husband from Maude but she has a terrible temper so I'll just leave him alone.
If you've followed along my progress through my blogs, just skip this next paragraph:

The heads are sculpted from polymer clay. Maude's legs are nails that I have nailed into the wooden base and her body is formed from a glass ball to which I've added a stiffened paper dress. The pattern on her dress is mostly from the paper that I used with just a few painted details. Why paper instead of fabric? First, I cannot sew. I CAN'T SEW! There! I said it! Secondly, I like to have pieces that can be easily dusted and cared for. The Husband's core is a cork from one of my beloved bottles of red wine over which I have applied apoxie sculpt.

Thanks for stopping in!

Renee :)

very cute. I am so sorry that I haven't mentioned it before but the lion was a huge hit. He came out perfectly. I love the gold mane. I think I will post a blog this weekend about it. By the way the box was smashed when I picked it up at the post office and the lion and my sculpture made it fine. My heart did drop for a second and I unwrapped it there so that if there was damage I could show the lady. But every thing was great.

Is she squeezing his ass so hard his eyeballs are bugging out??

Love her dress design.

Can't wait to see what you come up with next!

Oh Jannie, it is just a little pinch and he's LOVING it!

Sha-Marie, I'm just glad he liked it! I don't know if it is blog worthy (blush)...

I get SO aggravated at my boxes being beaten and battered by the post office! I'm surprised that anything EVER makes it in one piece! ARG! I've started insuring everything just in case but when you spend weeks making something it stings when it gets broken :(
